Given the rise in popularity of internet marketing, wouldn’t it be great to know exactly what it takes to be successful at such an endeavour? Here are 5 traits of successful internet marketers. How do you measure up?

1. Broad Knowledge Base - A successful internet marketer should be, at the very least, a well-rounded person. He should have a wide base of general knowledge and be able to use that knowledge to his advantage by drawing on it to come up with new and innovative ideas. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are a must since the prime tasks involves analyzing problems and finding solutions to them.

A background in English is particularly helpful since a successful internet marketer must be a master with words and know how to tell and use stories. A successful internet marketer understands design and how humans are influenced by what they see. He must understand basic human motivation and behavior, so a rudimentary understanding of psychology is key.

Finally, a successful internet marketer understands interpersonal relationships, and how those relationships function given the rise of social media.

2. Technologically Proficient - A successful internet marketer doesn’t have to know everything there is to know about internet technology, but he should have a fundamental understanding of databases, HTML, Flash, and style sheets. This sort of understanding is necessary if an internet marketer is going to have a firm grasp on how search engines and the Web work together. Most of all, the successful internet marketer should be pretty fascinated with technology and have a desire to use the latest online tools whenever they become available.

The successful internet marketer should have a realistic view of the capabilities of technology and, most of all, he should be aware of their potential. He should even be able to dream up new ways to use such technology, even before his counterparts come up with great ideas themselves.

3.  Solid Skills-The successful internet marketer has supurb communication skills.  Not only can he express his ideas, but he can explain, in laymen’s terms how web technology works. He has to be a great writer and must be able to write formally and informally, for experts and laypeople, and persuasively and factually. He has to be good at research as well, since he will have to understand those to whom he is marketing in order to be successful.

4. Lots of Experience-The online experience is driven by searching. When we need to find information, we use a search engine to hunt it down. Therefore, the successful online marketer must have experience in search engine optimization and marketing campaigns. He should also be a prolific blogger. One of his most important tasks will be to create high-quality content, build a loyal following, and participate in the conversations that take place around the content he publishes.

He should also be an expert in social media and how to use social networking for marketing purposes.

5. A Penchant for Problem-Solving- The successful internet marketer loves to encounter and solve problems. He should constantly be looking for ways to do things better and faster, and he should have a hunger for learning new things all the time. He should enjoy the trial-and-error approach to conundrums and, therefore, should be very patient. Most of all, he should be interested in getting the job done right.

It’s a rare person who possesses all of these skills and abilities, but if you’re interested in becoming the most effective and efficient internet marketing professional you can be, this list is a great place to start building your skills and knowledge.

There was a time when network marketing meant meeting at a friends place to sell your products and make associates. How to sell network marketing online is much more complex than this. For more infomation please visit Online Marketing

But broken down into its basic elements the question of how to sell network marketing online can be a simple exercise. The basis of network marketing is building networks of people who buy and sell products. What better place to build a network of people than on the ultimate worldwide network-the internet.

It’s no wonder that the internet is the place to go to build a network marketing business.

The benefits to building your business online are extensive. You can work in shorts and a T-shirt, you only talk with people who are highly interested and your business is working for you 24/7.

Moreover, your maintenance costs are low, and it is easy to expand internationally. Most important, anyone can do it–you do not have to be a computer genius to find success.

The first aspect of selling network marketing online is to have an internet presence. This means having a website . Usually network marketers have a website which runs into a few pages . A good ,imaginative and attractive front page ( called capture page) should work well . Keep things simple. Let your audience know what you are all about.

The second step of using web 2.0 tools to sell network marketing is a bit more involved than a passive web presence. Social sites like Facebook and Myspace have millions of subscribers ,each with different tastes and preferences. For more infomation please visit Internet Marketing

Joining likeminded forums and getting people to join your network marketing business makes good sense. You have to spend some time to understand the dynamics of social sites but the time spent is well worth it. Using forums you can sell network marketing to a world wide audience.

Blogging is a great way to sell network marketing . You must have several blogs hosted on different popular blogging sites. People are keen and interested in knowing about different things happening around the world. Selling network marketing through blogs is a fantastic idea.

Let people know about your network marketing scheme and how people can benefit from it. Get others excited about your ideas and see how they make a beeline towards you. To sell network marketing online is the best way to increase traffic to your business. Exploit all web 2.0 initiatives to grab a pie of the worldwide market.

As you attract prospects, you will need a database to keep track of them. Outlook has a great contact manager, though if you create something on your own, make sure it has enough room to keep track of a prospect’s name, e-mail, phone number and address. It must also have an area where you can write comments.

Once a prospect is in your database, send them a personal e-mail to see if they found the information on your site to be valuable. This will also determine their level of interest in your business. Use e-mails to create a rapport with the prospect and move them toward a phone call.

If you have an effective web presentation and follow-up system and a prospect agrees to speak with you by phone, there’s a good chance that person will join your business or purchase your product. For more information please visit Marketing.

brenda bunney Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the process used to increse the traffic  the search engines send to your domain by building links, content and authority to your site. The Search Engines shows websites in their results through algorithmic process. Proper optimization increases the liklihood that a particular website comes at the top rankings for a search on your chosen keywords.

SEO Working For You

SEO should work for every one of the Search engines and you shouldn’t have to target any one in particular. The steps of optimization any given site involves editing the web content & the HTML coding. The relevance is increased by placing specific keywords in key places of your websites. For additional information on how to do this, you can take a look at these free internet marketing resources.

Niche Marketing With SEO

SEO should also work on the niche areas of the search engines, like the Local Search Engine, Image Search Engine & the niche related search engines. The companies doing internet marketing for this work are called SEO Consultants or Search Engine Optimizers. They are charged  by the site owners with the task of optimizing their web site in the major search engines. The SEO professionals must have a broader idea of the market in which client’s business is related & also knowledge of the HTML coding & Design. They are able to incorporate many tactics to optimize the site.

Success Early On

In the 1990’s, all one had to do was to submit the URL or page to various engines to get the spiders to visit those pages and extract relevant links that would be displayed in the results. With the increasing number of domains and greater competition to get the maximum traffic, the internet marketing field has grown into a huge industry.

Early on, the Search engines would depend on the sites’ Meta tags. These Meta tags used to be a like guide to the content of of each page. But it was found that lot of incomplete or incorrect data was used in the Meta tag giving poor or incorrect information about the site in order to capture the desired traffic. The search engines caught on to this manipulation to achieve better results, and to limit abuse, Search Engines created complex formulas to stop the manipulation.

Google Enters The Marketplace

With the entry of the World’s leading search engine Google, things have changed a lot since then as it has put together a huge number of loyal internet users. Google used the concept of Page Rank to prevent manipulation. A lot of algorithms were introduced to rank the pages.

Today the good search engine optimizer uses a wide variety of SEO techniques like Inter exchange of links, popular keywords, Image optimization, headings, original and compelling content to improve the rankings.

brenda2One of the main differences between a blog and a static website is the way people are able to collaborate with your content. With a static site it’s just people reading words on a page.

When you have a blog they can explore and even comment back! You want to get that sort of interactive spirit going so you can create a loyal readership with your blog.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy! There are literally millions of blogs out there all vying for the attention of your audnce. It can be even harder to grab people’s attention when you’re just getting started.

The bad news is that it’s going to take some work and dedication to build up a loyal readership. The good news is that it’s very possible, and even fun, to put these things into place. Follow these rules and you’ll have the kind of repeat visitors and fans that really make blogging worth your while.

A Few Ideas For Great Blogs

Write Great Content

If your content stinks there is no way people are going to come back and read again! They’ll just click away, never to return. If you write great content, however, you’re sure to get some fans. Not everyone considers themselves to be a good writer. That’s OK! No one expects you to have perfect grammar and spelling. It’s far more important that you write interesting content that stands out from the crowd. Give your real thoughts and opinions on things that matter to the audience.

When you write great content, not only will you have people who want to visit your blog, but they will also link to you! You know that more linking means higher rankings in Google. That’s definitely a great thing that will expand your readership base to levels you couldn’t even imagine when you got started.

Leave the Comments Open

It’s amazing - but there are bloggers out there who close their comments! While it can be a lot of work to try and get rid of those spam comments, you’re also missing out on a big part of what being a blogger is all about. You need to let the audience write back and speak their mind too. People don’t just want a website they can read anymore, they want one they can add their “2 cents” to. So, leave your comments open and listen to them. It doesn’t matter if people always agree with you or not (they won’t!), you’ll get a much larger and interested following.

Guest Blog

The chances are good that there are some blogs out there that are very well-liked by the people in your niche. These blogs probably get a lot of traffic and a lot of respect. It’s time to get your name and website out there in front of this audience! All you need to do is write to the owner and say that you’d like to write some guest posts. They may be more than happy to take a break from their own posting and to give you a link back to your blog. This will not only give you link juice for the search engines, you’ll also win some of their loyal readers who are interested in what you have to say.

Learning how to create a loyal readership with your blog is incredibly important if you want your blog to thrive. It’s all about the people, and making sure they are aware of your blog and love your content.

There are numerous ways to generate links for your blogs. Submitting them to directories for review is an excellent option, but it is best to take a diversified approach to link building.

One method for generating free links to your site is blogging. I don’t mean writing and posting numerous articles in your own blog. What I mean is seek out blogs that post content related to your own sites niche. In particular find your competitors.

As an example let’s say your site sells camping equipment. Seek out the blogs which post on topics related to camping. This is easily done by a query with your favorite search engine.

Relavent Blog Information

Go through the list and find those that are most relevant to your site and have the highest quality of information. From there create a list of blogs.

When you have your list together go to each blog and start reading the posts. Blogs give readers the chance to comment on their posts so when you’re done reading, take a moment to make a thoughtful comment on the post. During that process it will give you the opportunity to enter your own website for a link back to it. Use it!

Now one reason that you want to seek out blogs that are relevant to your site is obvious. The links to your site will be more relevant.

Another reason you want to seek out the blogs of your competitors is that the readers of those blogs have already shown an interest in the topic. Since you chose blogs with content related to your own site when the readers of those blogs click on the link from your comment they will find a site they are interested in.

You will gain links to your site in addition to direct traffic that is targeted to you niche.

Commenting on A Blog

When you are leaving comments be careful. Everyone who has a blog knows what comment spam is and believe me they don’t like getting it.

Comment spam is short little comments like “great post” or “enjoyed the post”. Comments like these add nothing to the post and are just attempts to spam the post in order to get a link back. They are nearly always deleted by the blog owner. If your comment just gets deleted it won’t help you.

When making your comment, get your thoughts together and say something that might benefit the other blog readers or the author. This will not only increase your chance for getting your comment approved, it will also let the readers of the blog know you have some knowledge on the topic. That will increase your chances of them clicking your link to visit your site.   Getting traffic to your blog is what it is all about.

There are many ways to promote your blog.  I have found several blogging techniques that are helpful as well as a couple of really good blog promotion websites.

In order to build your blogging community, you must:

1) Post quality content and use good writing style

You must have something of “value” to others to say and understand the rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

2) Post frequent updates…. a minimum of one post every 5 days is suggested

3) Use good keywords for your blog

Google looks for relevance throughout the post. If they determine your material doesn’t work with your keywords, Google will not pick it up.

4) Keep your posts and paragraphs short

Most people scan a post first to determine if it’s worth a read.  If it is, then they’ll go back and spend their time to read the whole thing.

If the post is too long and cumbersome, many people will just move on to the next blog.

5) Refer your readers to other great sites and material.  Here are two that you might find helpful when promoting your own blog.

http://condron.us/
Condron is a blog surfing and promotion site. You can add your blog in a rotation schedule to be seen by others.

http://socialmediascience.com/
Social Media Science is a new program that allows you to submit your articles for advertising and possible promotion by others.

While the above blogging techniques are certainly not all inclusive, they will help you get started.
