Attracting the right leads for our network marketing business requires some unique marketing techniques, but we must find our niche just as any other product on the market.
Our daughter plays traveling softball and our son traveling baseball, so these two sports are taken a little more seriously at our house. When we need new bats, gloves, or cleats, we are willing to spend quite a bit of money on their equipment.
When my son and I decided we wanted to play tennis for fun, we went to Walmart and looked for a tennis racket that was good, but reasonably priced. I am sure if we were thinking of playing tennis competitively, I would have gone to a sporting goods store known for carrying the better tennis raquets.
As network marketers, we have to reach out to people, identify their problems and needs and then help them determine if we have a home-based business opportunity or line of products that will meet those needs. We must be able to meet a need with our network marketing opportunity in order to build our client base.
Each business opportunity will meet the needs of a unique market. While I am willing to spend more money on a new bat or glove for one of my kids because they are more serious about these sports, I am not willing to spend much money on a tennis racquet we will use occassionally and only for fun. What is important to your prospect? Ask them questions to find out!
We will come across people willing to spend, for example: $80 on a box of vitamins, while others refuse to spend more than $10 on their box of vitamins. It’s just a matter of what is important to each person.

What’s going on in the MLM industry? Are there some MLM Scams? It sounds like the U.S. government has stepped in to at least investigate a couple of MLM companies.
While there are many great MLM companies, just as in any industry you will find a few that attempt to spoil the fun for everyone. The government has become much more active when trying to make sure that the general public is protected as they search for an opportunity to build a business in the MLM industry.
YTB or Your Travel Business has long been in question by some people in the MLM industry as one company that has all the appearances of a pyramid scheme. There doesn’t seem to be a significant number of true consumers in YTB. The people utilizing the travel services appear to be mostly business builders. You can read the most recent news alert from the state of California here regarding Your Travel Biz or YTB .
Another company that has been shut down recently is ASD Cash Generator or ASD. If I understand ASD correctly, you are to surf the site daily and earn a certain percentage of the money you put into the system or you may reinvest if you like. If someone reading this post knows more about it, or knows that this information is not correct, please let me know. It sounds much like the scandal of the 12dailypro.com scam several years ago.
YTB is a MLM company, but I really don’t know how ASD is classified. MLM Watchdog may have more recent updates on these two situations. What I do know is that anyone interested in joining any business venture no matter whether you are going into partnership with your brother, best friend, or take on investors must do their best to make sure they have a legitimate business that works for them.
Ways to avoid MLM Scams:
1) Products that are sold to real consumers & there is more than one
2) Compensation that allows the newest member the same opportunities as the veteran
3) Company management experience and integrity & timing in the industry ……… Most businesses that are not at least three years old change and adjust just about everything from the compensation plan to policies and procedures, to their ability to fulfill promised deliveries. You may or may not recognize your MLM company after it’s initial start-up. Also, most businesses, about 95% fail within the first year.
4) A lead generation system that everyone in your organization can benefit from
6) Policies and Procedures that benefit the business builder as well as the company
Use Caution If Your Policies and Procedures say this:
” ABC company may at any time, with or without cause terminate your contract” or even more popular today ” ABC company has the option to not renew your contract on a yearly basis”
“Some MLM companies say their members must maintain contact with their organization by email, phone, take their group to meetings etc. and that this is an ongoing requirement as a member of their company. ” What if members don’t send enough emails? Can they cancel the offender? Why would they cancel a member? Maybe they’re making money now and the MLM company needs extra cash?
Just know that while there are many good MLM Companies, there are also companies that don’t play fair. Do your research as much as possible and keep your mind open.

What do your team members say about the necessity of retailing in addition to attracting new people to your home-based business in order to be successful?
Have you ever been in a home-based business where your team told you (and it’s true), “in order to be successful, you will need to have a combination of business builders and consumers? Sure you have.
Have you ever been in a network marketing business where in the same breath as saying you must have a good mix of customers and business builders to succeed, they admitted they and everyone else were having difficulty figuring out how to make it work in your business?

Look for a home-based business that is set up to allow owners the product line and price point that allows them to find and keep customers. I know it’s easier said than done! Sometimes it takes more than one try.

Keys To Attracting Customers:

1) Deep and wide product line the consumer “Needs”…….. not “Wants”, but will actually “Need” to go out and buy anyway
2) Reasonable prices…. “Reasonable” will have very different meanings for different people, of course, but the more value you can give your customer, the better and easier it is to attract both consumers and business builders.
3) A low monthly “point” or “volume” requirement within reach of everyone.
4) Lead Generation Systems to attract people to your business.
5) Solid training and help from company and team.

Some people have the networking ability, contacts and personality to have someone tell them they should make a list of family and friends, talk to everyone they meet and they do fine. For most people, however, the thought of this strikes a jolt of fear in their heart.
Solid training to me means actual hands on “help“, written lessons if possible, a mentor or whatever support you need to help your business. Look for what works for you in a home based business opportunity.

In the last post we talked about Linda who is working in a MLM business opportunity she thought would be “different”. Linda was doing very well and really believed she was helping others find great nutrition and a great network marketing opportunity through MLM. Linda has been disappointed…..
The MLM business opportunity Linda thought she had:
1) A MLM Company that pays to infinity & requires fewer people than most compensation plans to make a good living….. awesome !!
2) Great team to help her build a strong MLM business
3) Wonderful products to lead the way in the marketplace
4) Products that would be desirable by the true “consumer”, not just by people intending to build a MLM business.
The MLM business opportunity Linda found:
1) A compensation plan that looks very good on paper, but has a huge hump to get over before she starts earning money.
a) Paying once a week also means she must fulfill the volume requirements weekly….. difficult when you first start.
b) While she is paid through infinity, Linda is finding it difficult to get her people to place the monthly order to make even $5 to $10 per month. (The order requirement is $150 to $180 per month)
2) Linda does have “some of the biggest hearted people” in the industry willing to help her; however, THEY ARE IN THE SAME BOAT struggling to get going !!! These people are WONDERFUL!!! The people who ARE in a position to help, seem to take care of themselves first.
3) While the products are great, Linda finds it is difficult to attract true consumers, a must have for any network marketing business. Many people in North America do not have high-end nutritional products planned into their budget. It just isn’t that important to them unless they have a serious health concern and are forced to stay on supplements.
The vast majority of people would only consider supplements AFTER they have seen their doctor and are told they are a must to their health. Most people are reactive rather than proactive when it comes to nutritional supplementation.
Linda’s Decision:
Linda has decided to research some other home-based business opportunities to try to find something that might appeal to a broader audience and fulfill more than one of the basic “needs” of society. She knows people must “need” what she has to offer.
The First Step:
The first step Linda has taken in her research is to research her intended company and it’s management to help her train herself for network marketing success . Linda knows network marketing is a viable option, but would like to steer away from the MLM industry and concentrate on finding a home-based business built more on direct sales to the end user that still builds a residual income.
Your Decision?

What are you looking for to help you build a residual income? Would you like a MLM business opportunity or do you think like Linda that a company built on a direct sales philosophy with residual income would be more viable for you? Leave me a comment !! It doesn’t matter either way to me…… it’s your opinion that counts.

Linda thought she’d found the perfect network marketing situation for her. The network marketing business seemed good, Linda had done her “due diligence” researching the company before joining, and she felt that she had a great team who would be there to help her build her business.
Linda’s team had some wonderful people, but they were not in a position to give her the help she needed to make a good living with her new business. The MLM company changed the rules after she joined, making it more difficult for Linda to build a business.
Linda’s product line was very narrow. They are a strictly nutritional based company offering their customers fruit mango go go juice. They are branching out a little, but over the next year will only add a couple of new products which will still be nutritional based.
Linda’s prospects are telling her that the monthly order requirement of $150 is more than they can handle with the tight economy. She likes the people she has met, but Linda’s goal is to build a network marketing business and she is seeing a trend of having her prospects going with other companies.
What should Linda do? Linda has some decisions to make. Linda can use the training system this shopping club has for network marketing training to help her build any network marketing business she chooses.
The product line Linda represents will make a difference in the success of her network marketing business. People must be able to afford the products and they must have a need for them no matter what company Linda represents.

There are many network marketing training tips for people building a business. When you’re looking for a network marketing home, why not look at it as if you were the consumer. Most consumers do not have unlimited funds, so we have to either:
A) Find a marketing niche who needs what you have to offer and is willing to pay the price for a product like you have. Products must fulfill a need for the consumer and be a value.
OR
B) Market products that you know people will use daily that sell at a reasonable price so that you are not asking them to spend money on things they do not need.
Which senerio fits your company’s marketing strategy? Which way do you see yourself being successful?
Network Marketing Training Tips For You To Build A Successful Business:
1) Has a product line you know you would use on a daily basis and love… one you don’t mind sharing and will be sure others will benefit from
2) A product line that isn’t just like what everyone else has to offer
3) Is priced comparably to stores that carry a very comparable product line or offers something special
For example: Specialty pet store, Whole food & nutrition store, Stores that have toxic free products
4) A network marketing company that gives something of value, maybe even something back to their customers
5) A network marketing company that pays their customers (everyone is a customer in a network marketing company) well and appreciates them.
6) A network marketing team that has the ability AND willingness to help their new team members succeed, NOT just themselves.
