We all want to feel that we “belong” somewhere in this world.  We don’t want to feel that we are a goose living among swans.  We need to feel we’re in a place we can contribute and thrive.

Tomorrow is my son’s birthday; he will officially be a teenager.  I’ve been telling him he is a tweenager for a few years now, ever since he voiced his concern that everyone seemed to fit into a group except his age group! 

It’s true.  You have the infants, toddlers, kids (after about 9 they don’t feel they are really fitting into that group), teens, and adults. 

When he expressed his concern, I explained that he did have a group he belonged to…. tweenager.  They are in between being a kid and a teenager.  This seemed to satisfy him and let him know he “belongs” in a group in this world.

Everyone needs to feel they are part of a group, and that they are contributing to the world around them.  If you own your own multi-level marketing business, you know that it is important to you to build that business and contribute to your own income. 

As you talk to new prospects and existing business partners, let them know you have something more to offer than meets the eye.  If your group is a “family, you work together, or maybe there is a company wide program to set people on the right track, this is something of value you can offer potential business partners. 

Show your prospective business partners how they can fit into and prosper with your group. Many people could use a way to make extra money any time during the year, but most everyone could use an extra paycheck around Christmastime. 

There are literally millions of multi-level marketing business available on the Internet, but will any of them work?  What we have to remember is that “something” is working for everyone, even the person that is operating a scam. 

What we really need to know is:

1)  Will it work for the masses…. the new person who didn’t find this opportunity to make extra money within the launching period, has no blood relatives who began the company, and are willing to put forth a reasonable effort to build a business? I know I want to feel good about the company I am marketing.

2)  Will it work for me?  Are the activities required of me things that I personally feel comfortable doing or do I get an unsettled feeling? 

3)  What about the cost?  Look past the initial cost, what about the monthly requirement to do more than tread water?

4)  Everyone offers help, but ask what kind of help they offer. Does their “help” sound like it will work for you?  Each and every work from home opportunity is unique in the help it offers new business owners.

5)  Do some research….google the company, the company management, the industry, and see what others have to say.  Talk to some of them if possible and listen to what they have to say with an open mind.

Ultimately, please remember this, don’t let your desire to make extra money from home overshadow what you know …..  take your time!!!  Like anything worthwhile, it won’t be “easy”, but it should be well worth the investment.

Merry Christmas To All…. And To All A Goodnight!  My kids will be up early for Santa!

There are many different types of home-based businesses to choose from.  Some people begin a more traditional business while others are interested in something a little different.

Hair Salon Owners -  Some hairdressers have opened their own salon’s in their homes.  All of these women had the same expenses as any other business owner would have, but they worked from home. All three of them built a separate or extended room on their home to run their business with a separate entrance.

These business owners still had to network to gain customers.  They had to advertise their business just as any other business and purchase the same salon products needed to take care of their clients. 

Eventhough these businesses were based out of their homes, they still had the same business model,  the same expenses, employee issues, advertising costs as anyone else would have. 

Network Marketing Business - Your home-based business works just a little differently than the traditional business model.  The network marketing business owner walks into a situation where the business model is set up for them. 

Network marketers already have a product, the company normally provides a team of professionals trained to provide the home-based business owners with the tools necessary to build a successful business.

The network marketer is responsible for their own advertising, but some companies are creating more of a franchise relationship where they help the business owner by advertising in a more global manner.

Are you able to focus on your business and celebrate the holidays?  Successful home-based business owners MUST not let “life” interfere with building their business.

What seems to work well most of the year, may be a challenge during the Christmas season. How many of us wonder where we will find the time to Christmas shop, bake for the holidays, decorate the house, wrap the presents and attend the parties?

Megan began her home-based business in August and was able to focus on his daily tasks pretty well until…..  she added One More Thing to her plate!

Focus and time management is essential for Megan to maintain.  She must continue to consistently perform the same tasks now to build her home-based business as she did in September. 

Her planner has become even more of an essential tool to her success… and sanity than ever before!  Megan includes both professional and personal “lists” in order to get everything done.

   Millions of Christmas shoppers are choosing online shopping for their gifts this season rather than joining the crowed malls and long lines at the registers, hoping they can get waited on quickly. I shop as much as I can through my FREE Shopping membership so that I can save money while I shop.

Janice goes to the mall every year to shop for Christmas presents, but feels very rushed.  After several trips, she is able to finish her shopping.  She has spent many hours walking through the mall, several more hours in the lines to pay for her merchandise and then an additional 60 minutes driving to and from home.      The landscape is changing in the Internet Marketing industry regarding the way sourcing leads is achieved. When lead generation was first conducted mainly online,  network marketing leads were gold. They were hard to find and when someone got one they usually protected and guarded it with lots of jealousy.

A lead back then meant an opportunity to add someone to one’s down line and take another step towards creating residual income. However, while many have built great businesses using these methods it was still flawed to the extent that rejection was such a major killer of people’s hopes and dreams.
