 There are numerous ways to generate links for your blogs. Submitting them to directories for review is an excellent option, but it is best to take a diversified approach to link building.

One method for generating free links to your site is blogging. I don’t mean writing and posting numerous articles in your own blog. What I mean is seek out blogs that post content related to your own sites niche. In particular find your competitors.

As an example let’s say your site sells camping equipment. Seek out the blogs which post on topics related to camping. This is easily done by a query with your favorite search engine.

Relavent Blog Information

Go through the list and find those that are most relevant to your site and have the highest quality of information. From there create a list of blogs.

When you have your list together go to each blog and start reading the posts. Blogs give readers the chance to comment on their posts so when you’re done reading, take a moment to make a thoughtful comment on the post. During that process it will give you the opportunity to enter your own website for a link back to it. Use it!

Now one reason that you want to seek out blogs that are relevant to your site is obvious. The links to your site will be more relevant.

Another reason you want to seek out the blogs of your competitors is that the readers of those blogs have already shown an interest in the topic. Since you chose blogs with content related to your own site when the readers of those blogs click on the link from your comment they will find a site they are interested in.

You will gain links to your site in addition to direct traffic that is targeted to you niche.

Commenting on A Blog

When you are leaving comments be careful. Everyone who has a blog knows what comment spam is and believe me they don’t like getting it.

Comment spam is short little comments like “great post” or “enjoyed the post”. Comments like these add nothing to the post and are just attempts to spam the post in order to get a link back. They are nearly always deleted by the blog owner. If your comment just gets deleted it won’t help you.

When making your comment, get your thoughts together and say something that might benefit the other blog readers or the author. This will not only increase your chance for getting your comment approved, it will also let the readers of the blog know you have some knowledge on the topic. That will increase your chances of them clicking your link to visit your site.   Getting traffic to your blog is what it is all about.

We all want to feel that we “belong” somewhere in this world.  We don’t want to feel that we are a goose living among swans.  We need to feel we’re in a place we can contribute and thrive.

Tomorrow is my son’s birthday; he will officially be a teenager.  I’ve been telling him he is a tweenager for a few years now, ever since he voiced his concern that everyone seemed to fit into a group except his age group! 

It’s true.  You have the infants, toddlers, kids (after about 9 they don’t feel they are really fitting into that group), teens, and adults. 

When he expressed his concern, I explained that he did have a group he belonged to…. tweenager.  They are in between being a kid and a teenager.  This seemed to satisfy him and let him know he “belongs” in a group in this world.

Everyone needs to feel they are part of a group, and that they are contributing to the world around them.  If you own your own multi-level marketing business, you know that it is important to you to build that business and contribute to your own income. 

As you talk to new prospects and existing business partners, let them know you have something more to offer than meets the eye.  If your group is a “family, you work together, or maybe there is a company wide program to set people on the right track, this is something of value you can offer potential business partners. 

Show your prospective business partners how they can fit into and prosper with your group. Merry Christmas To All…. And To All A Goodnight!  My kids will be up early for Santa!

There are many different types of home-based businesses to choose from.  Some people begin a more traditional business while others are interested in something a little different.

Hair Salon Owners -  Some hairdressers have opened their own salon’s in their homes.  All of these women had the same expenses as any other business owner would have, but they worked from home. All three of them built a separate or extended room on their home to run their business with a separate entrance.

These business owners still had to network to gain customers.  They had to advertise their business just as any other business and purchase the same salon products needed to take care of their clients. 

Eventhough these businesses were based out of their homes, they still had the same business model,  the same expenses, employee issues, advertising costs as anyone else would have. 

Network Marketing Business - Your home-based business works just a little differently than the traditional business model.  The network marketing business owner walks into a situation where the business model is set up for them. 

Network marketers already have a product, the company normally provides a team of professionals trained to provide the home-based business owners with the tools necessary to build a successful business.

The network marketer is responsible for their own advertising, but some companies are creating more of a franchise relationship where they help the business owner by advertising in a more global manner.

Are you able to focus on your business and celebrate the holidays?  Successful home-based business owners MUST not let “life” interfere with building their business.

What seems to work well most of the year, may be a challenge during the Christmas season. How many of us wonder where we will find the time to Christmas shop, bake for the holidays, decorate the house, wrap the presents and attend the parties?

Megan began her home-based business in August and was able to focus on his daily tasks pretty well until…..  she added One More Thing to her plate!

Focus and time management is essential for Megan to maintain.  She must continue to consistently perform the same tasks now to build her home-based business as she did in September. 

Her planner has become even more of an essential tool to her success… and sanity than ever before!  Megan includes both professional and personal “lists” in order to get everything done.

Since Megan is feeling a little overwhelmed during the holiday season, in addition to keeping her planner with her, she has decided to do as much shopping as possible over the Internet. 

Megan because she likes to touch the merchandise, see it for herself and make sure the quality is up to her standards.  She may spend one weekend in the mall gathering ideas and then order her over the Internet. Normally Megan would need two more trips to actually purchase all the gifts.

   Millions of Christmas shoppers are choosing online shopping for their gifts this season rather than joining the crowed malls and long lines at the registers, hoping they can get waited on quickly. I shop as much as I can through my FREE Shopping membership so that I can save money while I shop.

Janice goes to the mall every year to shop for Christmas presents, but feels very rushed.  After several trips, she is able to finish her shopping.  She has spent many hours walking through the mall, several more hours in the lines to pay for her merchandise and then an additional 60 minutes driving to and from home. She then is so tired, wrapping the presents is not a possibility for a few days.

Jenny has plenty of Christmas shopping to complete, but she works full-time. They are having days that do not get above 20 degrees with sleet and snow predicted later in the week. Jenny knows she will have to get out to do some shopping, but has decided to order as many things as possible over the Internet. She has been able to complete more than half of her Christmas shopping online while sitting in front of her fire in the living room.

For some people it’s the “hunt” for just the right gift, and they could shop for hours.  I like seeing all the boxes in the pretty wrapping paper under the tree. I don’t even want to open them!

Dear Santa,

I want Internet Shopping that saves time and money when possible.  I have years where it’s easy to get into the Christmas spirit and others that I have difficulty.  It’s been easy this year between the Christmas movies and easy shopping on my site.
